There are a number of upgrades on the GTS 4 Mini as compared to the GTS 2 Mini. Let’s start with the differences first.

Display

The GTS 4 Mini has a slightly bigger 1.65-inch AMOLED display compared to the 1.55-inch AMOLED panel on GTS 2 Mini. It further has a slightly sharper display with 336×384 pixels resolution and 309 PPI, against the latter’s 354×306 pixels resolution and 301 PPI.

Both smartwatches have 2.5D tempered glass for scratch resistance on the display alongside the anti-fingerprint coating.

Operating System

The operating system is a major change in the new GTS 4 Mini. The GTS 2 Mini runs on the Amazfit OS that has a basic UI and productivity features. On the contrary, the newer model comes with Zepp OS which has much more productivity features and supports installing third-party apps from Zepp App Store including BMI, SOS, and a calculator app.

The Zepp OS is feature-rich and more efficient. This makes the GTS 4 Mini an ideal choice for someone who cares a lot about the software onboard.

Health Sensors

The GTS 4 Mini uses an upgraded BioTracker 3 PPG sensor that supports heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress tracking all day. Whereas, the BioTracker 2 PPG sensor on the GTS 2 Mini can only measure heart rate all day; not the other metrics.

Both smartwatches can track menstrual health and sleep, but the GTS 4 Mini can also measure sleep breathing quality at night which, the GTS 2 Mini cannot.

Sports Modes

The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini has only 68 sports modes. However, the latest GTS 4 Mini has 126 sports modes with 7 auto-recognition modes. The latter also allows users to compete against their previous running results with the virtual pacer function that GTS 2 Mini can’t do.

Battery

The GTS 4 Mini has a slightly bigger 270mAh battery than the 220mAh cell on GTS 2 Mini. It can provide up to 15 days of backup in typical use, 8 days in heavy use, and 45 days in battery-saving mode. Whereas, the GTS 2 Mini provides up to 14 days of backup in typical use, 7 days in heavy use, and 21 days in battery-saving mode.

GPS and Connectivity

The GTS 4 Mini equips an advanced GPS tracking system with a 5-satellite GNSS chip. This makes it better for position tracking as compared to the GTS 2 Mini which only has normal GPS.

The newer model also has slightly better connectivity with Bluetooth version 5.2, compared to the GTS 2 Mini which has Bluetooth version 5.0.

Strap Quality

The GTS 4 Mini has a slightly different strap locking system than the GTS 2 Mini, although the quality is almost the same and both are made of polycarbonate. The GTS 4 Mini has a pin lock strap with a tucking system, whereas, the GTS 2 Mini has a pin lock strap with a loop hook system.
