Is Redmi Smart Band Pro’s Display Better Than Honor Band 6?

The Redmi Smart Band Pro and Honor Band 6 have similar 1.47-inch AMOLED displays. Both have a resolution of 194 x 368 pixels with a pixel density of 282PPI.

In real life, the Honor Band 6 looks marginally bigger than the one on Redmi Smart Band Pro due to its wider capsule size. It looks more like a smartwatch than a fitness band.

Furthermore, the Honor Band 6 has a better viewing experience despite having large bezels and chin sizes. That said, both screens are bright enough and have similar color and sharpness.

As far as screen legibility is concerned, the Honor Band 6 has a higher peak brightness at 1000nits than the 450 nits screen on the Redmi Band. And yes, it does look a tad brighter under the sun.

Overall, the display quality is good in both bands, but we prefer the Honor Band 6’s display because of the wider profile.

Winner: Honor Band 6

Redmi Smart Band Pro vs Honor Band 6- Which has a Better Build?

For starters, both Redmi Smart Band Pro and Honor Band 6 have different designs, including strap quality and style. But do note that the two are made of polycarbonate plastic, and there’s no metal involved here.

Redmi Smart Band Pro has a curvy design capsule from the back but flat sides. Also, it doesn’t have any physical buttons, while the Honor Band 6 has one on the right side.

The Honor Band 6 has a larger and thicker capsule with Honor engraved on the left. That said, both bands have the branding, model number, and all the sensors and charging point embedded on their plastic back.

The straps on both fitness bands are made of TPU material. Honor Band 6 has a thin strap with a standard clip locking system, whereas the Redmi Smart Band Pro has a thicker strap with a pin locking system.

Overall, both the fitness bands have a solid build, and we didn’t have any issue whatsoever. The different strap designs can be a deciding factor for many people.

Health and Activity Tracking- Which Band is More Accurate?

The Honor Band 6 and Redmi Smart Band Pro come with dedicated heart rate and SpO2 sensors. The brands have mentioned that these bands come with different health tracking algorithms.

Health features onboard include 24-hour heart rate monitoring, SpO2, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking, and breathing exercise.

In our testing, both smart bands have shown almost similar results. We checked heart rate and blood oxygen levels on both bands side by side. Although the Honor Band 6 shows readings a tad faster, they are equally accurate.

Coming to activity tracking, the Redmi Smart Band Pro features 110+ sports modes, including various sports and fitness modes. The band shows 14 preloaded sports modes, but you can add all other sports modes from the app or the band itself.

On the other hand, the Honor Band 6 has a selection of 95 workout modes to track your physical exercises, including 10 professional workout modes.

There is also an auto-detect workout/auto-sports recognition mode in both bands that automatically detects the workout mode through body movements.

The Redmi Smart Band Pro has three auto-detect workout modes, including running, walking, and treadmill. The Honor Band 6 auto-detects six workouts, including running, walking, and elliptical machine.

In our testing, Redmi Smart Band Pro detected the workouts faster than the Honor Band 6. This can be a plus point for fitness enthusiasts.

Overall, both the bands have almost similar accuracy in health tracking. But when it comes to activity and workout tracking, the Redmi Smart Band Pro leads the race.

Winner: Redmi Smart Band Pro

Redmi Smart Band Pro vs Honor Band 6- Which Has More Features?

Talking about productivity features, the two smart bands have almost all essential features. However, the Redmi Smart Band Pro does flaunt some extra features not available on the latter.

DND Mode, Alarms, Weather Forecast, Raise to Wake, Music Control, Camera Control, Stopwatch, Timer, and Find Phone are the standard features available on both.

Apart from these, the Redmi Smart Band Pro also has an always-on display, PIN lock, and app layout customization features. This gives it a slight advantage.

The Redmi Smart Band Pro is definitely more feature-rich, especially given that it offers an always-on display feature that isn’t available on the Band 6 and can be a dealbreaker for many.

Winner: Redmi Smart Band Pro

Which Smart Band Has Better App Experience?

For both the bands, you need an application to connect them with your phone. The Redmi Smart Band Pro can be connected to the phone via the Xiaomi Wear app, and the Honor Band 6 can be connected via Huawei Health app.

The Xiaomi Wear app offers lots of customizations. You can enable all the notifications, enable and customize health-tracking features, set alarms, change widgets and layouts, and enable other features like weather, camera control, and raise to wake.

You can also download cloud watch faces and create custom watch faces from the app only. The app interface is also good and feels very simple yet attractive with a responsive UI.

On the other hand, the Huawei Health app looks quite sophisticated but is very responsive with detailed information. Although there are not many features and customizations available in the app, most are available directly on the band.

You can enable and customize health monitoring features, set alarms, enable weather forecasting, notifications, music controls, raise to wake, and Bluetooth disconnection reminders. You can also download hundreds of cloud watch faces and create custom watch faces.

Overall, both the apps are simple to use, but the Xiaomi Wear app looks cleaner and has more features than the Huawei Health app. So, my point goes to Redmi Band Pro here as well.

Winner: Redmi Smart Band Pro

Redmi Smart Band Pro vs Honor Band 6- Which Has Battery and Charging?

The brand claims the Redmi Band Pro to have 14 days of battery life in normal use that can go up to 20 days in power saving. Whereas Honor Band 6 is said to have 14 days of battery life in normal use and can last for up to 10 days in heavy use.

The Honor Band 6 lasted for about 8- 10 days on medium to heavy use in our usage. Credit goes to the lightweight Lite OS, efficient Kirin A1 chipset, and lack of always-on display feature.

On the contrary, the Redmi Smart Band Pro lasted only about five days with similar usage, and AOD enabled. We also experienced some strange battery drain issues on the Redmi Band, but I feel they’ll be fixed with a firmware update soon.

Talking about charging, then the Honor Band 6 comes with fast magnetic charging that charges from 0-100% in about 45 minutes. On the other hand, the Redmi Smart Band Pro takes about 70 minutes to get fully charged.

Seemingly, the Honor Band 6 takes the lead here with longer endurance and faster charging. Although, the Redmi Smart Band Pro is no slouch either.

Winner: Honor Band 6

Redmi Smart Band Pro vs. Honor Band 6 Comparison- Verdict

As evident, both the Redmi Smart Band Pro and Honor Band 6 give tough competition to each other. The Redmi Band has more features, gets an always-on display, and has more customization features.

At the same time, the Honor Band 6 flaunts better battery life and charging, a dedicated physical button, and a wider display profile.

While the original price of Honor Band 6 is Rs. 3,999, it frequently comes down to a discounted price of Rs. 3,000 and even Rs. 2,499. Whereas the Redmi Smart Band Pro has the original price of Rs. 3,999 and is currently available for an introductory price of Rs. 3,499.

All-inclusive, the Honor Band 6 is a slightly better value for money offering, especially if you manage to get it for Rs. 2,499. However, it lacks the always-on display feature and may look too large on some people, in which case, you can opt for the Redmi Smart Band Pro.

Besides, there’s also Huawei Band 6 available in the market which shares similar features to that of the Honor counterpart but demands a premium price for the branding. Anyways, what’s your choice? Let us know via comments. Stay tuned for more.
